Eat This!
Went down to the OC last week to attend the Purpose Driven Youth Ministry Leader’s Conference. The schedule was pretty packed, but there were a couple hours each day when we could go out and grab a bite to eat. With only a few hours at our disposal, we were very strategic about what we could and would eat.
Day 1 – Flying in to LAX, car rental, lunch at Corner Place (“Gilmok”).

Of course there was meat involved. It’s good to be Korean sometimes. If you don’t have a Korean friend, you need to make one, because I don’t know how you would be introduced to Korean BBQ without.
Too full from bbq to eat dinner that day, but we did have an appetite for Yogurt Land.

Day 2 – Conference, Sack Lunch, and then off to The Hat. I parted ways with the group to spend some time with an old college friend and had some other goodies.

Ended that day, going to Yogurt Land again and watching “Duplicity”. Don’t watch it… waste of money.
Day 3 – Conference, Sack Lunch, fast food dinner tour. Yes, that’s right, a fast food dinner tour. We went to In-N-Out, Wahoo’s for some fish taco’s, and then stopped by this place called Chronic Tacos just for the name and the story (I know what you’re thinking… and no, they were just tacos, nothing else!). If I have time, maybe I’ll post the video. This was our last night, so we also went out for Mochilato for some gelato filled mochi’s and shaved ice.

Day 4 – Last day in the OC, had to finish our time off the way it started with some more Korean BBQ this time at Shik-Do-Rak.

Did I mention that I went to Yogurt Land like 3 times during this trip? Oh, and we also grabbed some Chik-Fil-A for the plane ride home. Talk about gluttony.

Segue into the reason for this post: I wanted to take these photos was to arouse the glutton in all of us. If you’re like me, my mouth waters at the thought of Korean BBQ, dessert, and In-N-Out.
One of my former pastors, Eugene Cho, has been very intentional about solving the problem of world hunger. If you haven’t seen the rally cry on Facebook (or on his blog), I ask that you check it out. And after you check it out, ask the question, “What can I do?” and then follow that with a commitment to do something, anything.
Don’t get me wrong, I thank God and for the enjoyment of it, but it shouldn’t stop there, should it?
